"When The Ball Comes: Songlines"
From the front flap:
"When The Ball Comes" presents for the first time an extensive, cohesive collection of the long, thin texts called “Songlines” by the multidisciplinary artist and athlete Torben Ulrich. The more than 300 works here challenge conventional attitudes often assumed in sports – and life – including dualism, winning and losing, violence, fame and capitalism, and offer alternative approaches around play, sharing, compassion, non-duality, non-attachment and awareness. A unique work growing out of Ulrich’s decades on the international tennis tour and other athletic endeavors, playing jazz and improvised music, writing about music and culture, making films and paintings, and investigating philosophy and spirituality.
