Starting in 1961, T.U. and Erik Wiedemann co-edited a biweekly magazine-type program
on Danish Radio called Jazz 61 (and, in 1962, Jazz 62, etc.).
The program emphasized contemporary strains of jazz music, with accent on speedy
presentations of recently released recorded material, blended with fairly long interviews
with visiting musicians, interspersed with their recorded materials or recorded music of the musician's choice.
From time to time, they were able to present music actually performed in the studios
of the Danish Radio, including by Albert Ayler, by Archie Shepp, and by Don Cherry with chamber music players from the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
This type of program also developed into the programs Tangent and Tamburinen.
